On, in, at

 

• I wait you at Bakırköy Train Gar at 8:30

• She sings at parties.

• Do you want to play at Ali Sami Yen Stadium?

• Does she likes swim in/at pool?

• He’s in İstanbul on business.

• She works at IKEA.

• She works in a restaurant.

• I read a newspaper in the taxi on the way home.

Genellikle bir adresten sonra “at”, bir yol veya sokağın başında ise “in” veya “on” kullanırız.

• I have a shop at İstanbul Avenue.

• My home is on Park Road

Bazen de uzun sokak veya yollar için in yerine on kullanabiliriz.

• The church is on the İstiklal Avenue.


Across, Over, Along, Through


Genelde “across” ve “over” ingilizce kelimelerini diğer taraf hakkında konuşurken,
örneğin köprünün, yolun, sınırın, nehrin diğer tarafına geçerken kullanırız.

• The car come towards us across / over the bridge.

• Sibel lives in the home across / over the road road from our house.

• Recep across / over the border, now he is in safe.

Over genel olarak bir tarafa geçişin yüksek veya geniş bir yerden olması durumlarında
across’un yerine kullanılır.

• Suzan hurt her leg when she jumped over the wall.

• Bus comes over the mountain.

Düz olduğunu düşündüğümüz yerler hakkında konuşurken “across” kullanabiliriz.

• I missed the goal because your sister is across the room.

Bir çizgi şeklindeki bir mekândan (patika, yol, nehir, sahil, kanal) bahsederken “along” kelimesini kullanırız.

• They are walking along the road.

• I like to run along the beach in mornings.

• The boat is moving along the canal.


Üç boyutlu bir mekan için konuştuğumuzda ise “through” kelimesini kullanırız.

• He is walking through the forest.

• I pushed my way through the crowd.

• She spent a lot of her free time walking in the forest.
